There’s something magical about waking up before the sun in the middle of nowhere. I set off at 4:30 AM, hiking up a cold, misty trail in the Western Ghats. My goal? Catch the golden light as it broke over the ridge.
About 15 minutes before sunrise, the clouds started to break. I found a vantage point overlooking the valley, set up my tripod, and waited.
The sun peeked through just for a moment — that golden glow hit the hilltops and lit up the fog in layers of orange and purple. I knew I had about 30 seconds to capture it.
What I Learned
1. Always scout your location a day before if you can.
2. Sunrise waits for no one — plan for delays.
3. The best light often comes just before or after the “perfect moment.”
Thank you for letting us be a part of your story.
